Intel Corp. reported its fourth-quarter earnings for 2024, surpassing Wall Street's expectations on both revenue and earnings per share (EPS). The company posted a revenue of $14.26 billion, down 7% from the previous year but above the anticipated $13.81 billion. Adjusted EPS was $0.13, beating the consensus estimate of $0.12, while GAAP EPS was $(0.03). Despite these beats, Intel reported a net loss of $126 million for the quarter, a significant decline from the $2.67 billion profit in the same period the prior year. For the full year, Intel recorded a net loss of $18.8 billion, contrasting with a profit of $1.7 billion in 2023, with full-year revenue at $53.1 billion. Looking ahead, Intel provided a first-quarter 2025 revenue guidance of between $11.7 billion and $12.7 billion, which falls short of the expected $12.85 billion. The company also forecasted an adjusted EPS of $0.00 for the first quarter, below the anticipated $0.09. Intel's performance was influenced by a challenging market environment, with declines in its Client Computing Group and Data Center and AI Group revenues by 9% and 3% respectively, to $8 billion and $3.39 billion. The Network and Edge Group, however, saw a 10% increase in revenue to $1.62 billion. Intel's Foundry business reported revenue of $4.5 billion. Additionally, Mobileye, an Intel-owned company, reported a profit of $0.13 per share and revenue of $490 million. Intel's stock rose 2% in after-hours trading following the earnings release.
