Reddit's strong performance is attributed to its focus on site improvements and new features aimed at converting logged-out users into logged-in users, who are more valuable to advertisers. The company provided a robust outlook for the second quarter, forecasting revenue between $410 million and $430 million, ahead of Wall Street's estimates. Roku Inc. also reported its first-quarter earnings for 2025, with total revenue rising 16% year-over-year to $1.02 billion, slightly above the expected $1.01 billion. Despite a net loss of $27.4 million, or $0.19 per share, this was an improvement from the previous year's $50.9 million loss. Roku's platform revenue, which includes advertising and subscription revenue-sharing deals, increased by 17% to $880.8 million. The company's Devices revenue was $140 million, up 11%. Roku estimates its Q2 revenue to be about $1.07 billion. In a strategic move, Roku announced its acquisition of Frndly TV, a low-cost subscription streaming service, for $185 million in cash. The acquisition, expected to close in the second quarter, aims to enhance Roku's platform revenue and subscription offerings. Frndly TV, which offers live TV and on-demand content starting at $6.99 per month, will continue to operate across multiple devices and platforms. Duolingo Inc. reported a 38% year-over-year increase in first-quarter revenue, reaching $230.7 million, exceeding the estimated $223 million. The company's adjusted earnings per share were $0.72, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.52. Duolingo's daily active users surged to 46.6 million, a 49% increase, while monthly active users grew by 33% to 130.2 million. The company's net income was $35.1 million, and it now has 10.3 million paid subscribers. Duolingo raised its full-year revenue forecast to between $987 million and $996 million.
