Wise, the UK-based fintech company specializing in international money transfers, announced plans to shift its primary stock market listing from the London Stock Exchange to a US exchange, while maintaining a secondary listing in London. The move is intended to expand Wise's access to deeper capital markets and a broader pool of American institutional and retail investors. CEO and co-founder Kristo Käärmann stated that the US offers the world’s deepest and most liquid capital markets, which Wise believes will help accelerate its mission and support further growth, particularly in the US market. The company said the decision would be put to a shareholder vote, with more details to be released on or around June 26. Shares of Wise rose 9% to 1,180 pence following the announcement, giving the company a market capitalization of over £12 billion. Wise reported strong financial results for the year ending March 2025, including a 15% increase in revenue to £1.21 billion, a 17% rise in pre-tax profit to £564.8 million, a 13% increase in underlying operating profit to £296.9 million, underlying free cash flow of £332.7 million, and earnings per share of 40.37p. The company reported 15.6 million active customers and plans to invest around £2 billion over the next two years. Wise will continue to invest in its UK operations, where about 20% of its staff and most of its executive team are based. The company does not plan to pay a dividend and has provided guidance for underlying pretax profit margin for financial 2026 to be around the top of the 13% to 16% range, below the 21% reported for the year to March 2025. The US market currently ranks third by revenue for Wise.
