Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the American actor renowned for his role as Theo Huxtable on the 1980s television hit "The Cosby Show," died at age 54 from an accidental drowning in Costa Rica. Warner was on a family vacation when he drowned while swimming with his 8-year-old daughter. Reports indicate that both Warner and his daughter struggled in the water, with surfers intervening to rescue the child and bring Warner to shore. Despite 45 minutes of CPR efforts, Warner could not be revived. The incident occurred on a beach without lifeguards, and a second man was reportedly left in critical condition after attempting to save Warner. Warner, an Emmy and Grammy winner, was mourned by many in Hollywood, including Bill Cosby, who referred to him as his "TV son." Warner's ex-partner Regina King and other celebrities such as Kevin Hart and Magic Johnson paid tribute to the late actor. Warner had recently spoken candidly about his legacy in an interview two months before his death.
