US Lawmakers Accuse Nigeria of Taking Binance Executive Hostage https://t.co/0V7jF5Jmnl

Sixteen members of Congress, including House Republicans led by Chairman Michael McCaul, have sent a letter to President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs Roger Carstens, urging immediate action to secure the release of Tigran Gambaryan, a Binance executive detained in Nigeria. Gambaryan, a former IRS investigator known for his record in combating cryptocurrency crime, has been held in Nigeria for over three months. Lawmakers have expressed serious concerns about his health, citing that he has contracted malaria and is facing harsh conditions. They have characterized his detention as wrongful and akin to a hostage situation, pressing the Biden administration to treat it as an urgent matter.
