Jonathan Caravello, a professor at California State University Channel Islands, was arrested for allegedly throwing a tear gas canister at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents during a raid on Glass House Farms, a marijuana cultivation site near Los Angeles. The raid resulted in 360 arrests and a fatality. Caravello was released on bond after being charged. According to the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, Caravello was not kidnapped by federal agents but was lawfully arrested. Colleagues of Caravello stated that he was attempting to assist a person in a wheelchair when a tear gas canister rolled under the chair during the protest.
