Democratic Representative Salud Carbajal of California has been accused by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) of sharing the business card of an ICE agent with a violent mob during a raid on an illegal cannabis farm in Carpinteria, California. The raid involved federal agents executing a criminal search warrant at the marijuana facility. Carbajal reportedly attempted to push past officers guarding the federal operation and then provided the ICE employee's identification to protesters. Following this, the ICE agent was targeted and injured by rocks thrown by the mob. Homeland Security described Carbajal as part of a violent group obstructing federal law enforcement. The incident has led to calls for Carbajal's prosecution. Additionally, Carbajal has faced criticism for referring to ICE agents as "Nazi thugs" while defending a member of the MS-13 gang.
