Miles Pfeffer, a Bucks County man, was found guilty of first-degree murder for the 2023 shooting death of Temple University Police Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald. The trial began on June 23, 2025, nearly two and a half years after the February 18, 2023, killing in North Philadelphia. Pfeffer's defense claimed he acted out of fear, but the jury convicted him on all charges. He was subsequently sentenced to life in prison plus an additional 22.5 to 45 years. Separately, Justin Mohn, another Bucks County resident, was convicted of first-degree murder for killing and beheading his father, Michael Mohn, in January 2024. Mohn posted a video of his father's severed head on YouTube and claimed the killing was a "Plan B" following a failed attempt to perform a citizen's arrest on his father for alleged treason. On July 11, 2025, Mohn was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
