St. Louis Police Probe ‘STL Bomber’ Who Threw Fireworks Into Crowds

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has opened a bombing and arson investigation after a man who calls himself the “STL Bomber” posted video of himself throwing lit fireworks at patrons on the patio of The Wheelhouse bar and at pedestrians and motorists in downtown St. Louis over the Fourth of July weekend. Footage shows the suspect grinning, lighting commercial-grade fireworks and hurling them into crowded areas, including from a moving car. Police said the man acted with at least three accomplices and that they are reviewing the recordings to determine whether any injuries occurred. Detectives released images of the suspect on Thursday and urged anyone who was hurt or has information to contact the department’s Bomb and Arson Unit. As of Friday morning, the man had not been arrested or charged while the investigation continues.
