Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a firework explosion that injured several people, including a police officer and two children, at the Centerville Freedom Fest held at Centerville Community Park on July 5, 2025. The incident occurred when a mortar-style firework was thrown into a crowd before the official fireworks show began. Authorities confirmed multiple injuries resulting from the illegal fireworks. This event was part of the Fourth of July celebrations in Centerville. Separately, at least five people were injured by illegal fireworks in Antioch during similar festivities.
