FTX, a bankrupt crypto exchange, is selling the majority of its stake in AI startup Anthropic for $884 million. The sales involve two dozen buyers, with a significant portion going to UAE investors. The estate of FTX is offloading about two-thirds of its shares in Anthropic, with the largest stake going to ATIC Third International Investment Co., aligned with Mubadala, a sovereign wealth fund in the UAE. The sales will add to a sizeable cash pile for repaying creditors, potentially allowing FTX to repay customers 120-140% of their assets' value on the day of the bankruptcy filing.
