Grayscale Investments on 12 August 2025 introduced two single-asset vehicles—the Grayscale DeepBook Trust and the Grayscale Walrus Trust—designed to give accredited investors direct exposure to DEEP and WAL, the native tokens of the DeepBook and Walrus protocols built on the Sui blockchain. DeepBook operates as a native central-limit order book that serves as the Sui network’s liquidity engine, seeking to provide low-latency, institutional-grade trading infrastructure for decentralised finance applications. Walrus functions as an on-chain data layer aimed at scalable and privacy-preserving storage for social, gaming and other high-throughput use cases. Both protocols were developed within the Sui ecosystem created by Mysten Labs. The trusts, open for daily subscription through private placement, follow the structure of Grayscale’s existing single-asset products such as GBTC. “DeepBook and Walrus provide infrastructure designed for high-performance on-chain liquidity and data, helping power the next wave of scalable blockchain applications,” said Rayhaneh Sharif-Askary, Grayscale’s head of product and research.
