Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has initiated a significant leadership shake-up at the Ethereum Foundation amid growing criticism and community unrest. Buterin has publicly criticized detractors of the Foundation's director, Aya Miyaguchi, for their aggressive online tactics, which he believes create a toxic environment for the organization's talent. Amid this controversy, Konstantin Lomashuk, Lido founder, has teased the creation of a 'Second Foundation' aimed at advancing Ethereum's development. Lido currently accounts for 28% of Ethereum's staked ETH. This move has sparked debate about the future direction and governance of Ethereum, with some community members and industry figures expressing support for Lomashuk's potential leadership in a new entity, even suggesting the possibility of another hard fork similar to the one that led to Ethereum Classic. Additionally, the Ethereum Foundation has launched Etherealize, a New York-based startup backed by Buterin and the Foundation, to market Ethereum to financial firms as ether continues to lag behind bitcoin's gains. The Foundation has also set up a wallet with 50,000 ETH, worth approximately $165 million, to participate in the Ethereum decentralized finance ecosystem, with Aave founder Stani Kulechov hailing this as a major breakthrough.
