The OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee concluded its 61st meeting on Monday, 28 July, without recommending any changes to the alliance’s oil-production policy, delegates said after the videoconference. The committee reiterated that it has no mandate to set output levels and dismissed earlier speculation that the session could trigger immediate adjustments. Reviewing data for May and June 2025, the panel reported overall compliance with agreed quotas but pressed lagging members to submit updated compensation plans to the OPEC Secretariat by 18 August. It again stressed the “critical importance” of full conformity and compensation for past overproduction. The JMMC said it will continue to track adherence to the production targets set at the 38th OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting of December 2024, as well as the additional voluntary cuts announced in February 2024 by eight participating countries. The committee scheduled its next review for 1 October and retained the option to call an extraordinary session or request a full ministerial meeting should market conditions warrant.
