The bank's projections suggest that Bitcoin, currently priced around $98,000, may hit $200,000 in 2025, $300,000 in 2026, and $400,000 in 2027. Additionally, Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, anticipates Bitcoin will double in price this year, reaching $200,000. Former PayPal President and Lightspark CEO David Marcus has also advocated for the U.S. to consider Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, arguing that it is a superior alternative to gold, which the U.S. currently holds in reserves valued at $600 billion. Marcus emphasized the growth potential of Bitcoin compared to gold, suggesting a reallocation of part of the gold reserves to Bitcoin could be beneficial.
