U.S. government bond prices advanced on 29 July, pushing the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield down four basis points to 4.37%, the lowest level of the session. The latest move extends a retreat that began the prior week, when the 10-year yield slipped 3.9 basis points to 4.426% on 18 July after briefly touching 4.469% the day before. Short-dated debt also firmed, with the two-year yield closing 5.2 basis points lower at 3.865% on 18 July.
