
Western governments, including the U.S., U.K., and New Zealand, are accusing China of engaging in a massive cyber-espionage campaign targeting millions of people, including politicians and journalists. China is alleged to have hacked the UK Electoral Commission, gaining access to voter information. Seven Chinese nationals have been indicted for computer intrusions and wire fraud related to hacking U.S. businesses and politicians. The Chinese government is also said to be targeting critical infrastructure and using sophisticated technology similar to Russia's cyberattack playbook.
