Jeffrey Epstein’s former attorneys, David Schoen and Alan Dershowitz, said on 16 July that the late financier never maintained a “client list” and that no such record is being concealed by the Trump administration or Attorney General Pam Bondi. Schoen told NewsNation that assertions of a hidden roster are “based on fallacies,” while Dershowitz wrote in the Wall Street Journal that the Federal Bureau of Investigation merely redacted names mentioned by alleged victims, none of whom are current officeholders. Their comments follow a July memo from the FBI and Justice Department outlining 300 gigabytes of digital material seized from Epstein’s properties. The file included images of minors, victim names and biographical details, but investigators said it contained no list of clients or evidence that Epstein planned to blackmail associates. The absence of such a document has drawn public scrutiny since Epstein’s death in 2019. Dershowitz added that recordings purported to show compromising activity do not exist, and reiterated that he has seen “nothing improper or even questionable” involving President Trump, whose contact with Epstein reportedly ended years before Trump entered politics. Trump, speaking to reporters on Tuesday, called the sustained focus on the case unwarranted and urged supporters to move on.
