European Union official Kaja Kallas said the bloc should intensify pressure on Moscow following recent Russian attacks, arguing that measures targeting the country’s energy sector would deliver the most significant blow to the Kremlin’s finances. Kallas added that secondary sanctions on entities helping Russia circumvent existing restrictions would further tighten the economic squeeze. She noted that decisions on whether to deploy troops to Ukraine would remain the prerogative of individual EU member states.
