U.S. and European Chiefs Draft Military Options to Bolster Peace Talks

Defense chiefs from Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Ukraine and the United States have jointly drawn up military options intended to underpin forthcoming peace negotiations aimed at securing a durable settlement in Europe, according to a U.S. official cited by Reuters. The official said the proposals will be forwarded to each nation’s national security adviser for review, but did not provide details of the options or a timeline for potential implementation. The multinational initiative reflects growing coordination among NATO members and Ukraine as diplomatic efforts intensify to end the continent’s most significant security crisis in decades.
