President Donald Trump on Aug. 27 signed a proclamation ordering United States flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of the victims of a shooting earlier in the day in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Under the directive, flags at the White House, on all federal public buildings and grounds, at military posts and naval stations, and at U.S. embassies and consular facilities overseas are to remain lowered until sunset on Aug. 31.
