France reported a current account deficit of 3.5 billion euros in June 2025, widening from the previous revised figure of 2.6 billion euros and exceeding the prior month's 3.1 billion euros deficit. The country's seasonally adjusted trade balance showed a deficit of 7.62 billion euros, slightly improving from the previous 7.80 billion euros but still indicating a substantial trade shortfall. Additionally, French wages increased by 0.5% quarter-over-quarter in the second quarter, down from the previous 0.7% growth. In Switzerland, the unemployment rate remained steady at 2.9%, in line with forecasts and previous levels. Swiss foreign currency reserves rose slightly to 0.71644 billion, up from 0.713 billion previously.
