Rassemblement National vice-president Sébastien Chenu on Sunday pressed President Emmanuel Macron to dissolve the National Assembly “as soon as possible,” arguing that an early vote is needed to let voters break the impasse created by the pensions overhaul and other disputes. Speaking on the CNEWS–Europe 1 programme “Le Grand Rendez-vous,” the northern deputy said the far-right party would review the prime minister’s roadmap at the start of the new parliamentary session and could support a motion of censure during the October 2025 budget debate if it finds the plan unacceptable. Chenu added that the RN already has an “army of candidates” ready to contest a snap election and dismissed overtures from mainstream conservatives, calling the traditional right “particularly cowardly.” He also said Marine Le Pen is not personally seeking the post of prime minister. Earlier in the day, RN lawmaker Franck Allisio made a similar appeal for dissolution, underscoring the party’s growing confidence after recent opinion-poll gains.
