The WNBA on 6 July named its 12 reserves for the league’s All-Star Game, confirming Seattle Storm wing Gabby Williams as part of the squad that will face the starters on 19 July in Indianapolis. The 28-year-old becomes the first French player selected for the exhibition, which this year is captained by Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier. Williams, a UConn alum in her seventh WNBA season, is averaging career-best figures of 13.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists while leading the league with 2.6 steals a night. Her play has helped Seattle to an 11-7 record, fifth in the 13-team standings. Her inclusion lifts Connecticut’s tally to four All-Stars this season, ahead of the three apiece produced by Notre Dame and South Carolina.
