Wolfgang Grupp, the 83-year-old former head of the German textile company Trigema, has been hospitalized for over a week following an incident initially undisclosed to the public. A rescue helicopter transported him from his residence to the hospital. The company stated that his condition was "appropriate for his age." However, on July 17, Grupp personally revealed in a letter to Trigema employees that he had attempted to take his own life, attributing his actions to age-related depression. He expressed regret over the attempt and indicated that his recovery might be prolonged.
