NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo spent Thursday in Athens hosting U.S. livestreamer IShowSpeed, guiding the 20-year-old YouTuber from the outdoor court in Sepolia where Antetokounmpo learned the game to the Acropolis. The pair broadcast the visit live, drawing roughly 120,000 simultaneous viewers and, according to Greek outlet ProtoThema, reaching a global audience of several million once clips were shared across platforms. During the stop at Sepolia, IShowSpeed executed what he said was his first dunk, using the same rim on which Antetokounmpo recorded his own first slam as a teenager. Later, on camera, the two ate with a view of the Parthenon before entering the archaeological site, switching from professional equipment to a mobile phone at the request of site staff. Antetokounmpo, in Greece ahead of national-team commitments, also told the streamer he would arrange an introduction to Michael Jordan—advising him jokingly not to “start barking” when they meet.
