Philadelphia ranks as the city with the worst bedbug problem, followed by Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), which is the fifth most infested area in the country. Las Vegas is among the top three cities for service-related searches, while St. Louis and multiple cities in Oklahoma also show high search volumes. Richmond's ranking has shifted from 35th to 28th in bedbug infestation severity according to Terminix. The Northeast and Midwest regions lead in bedbug-related searches overall. Florida cities have also been identified among the top 50 most bedbug-infested U.S. cities. While bedbugs do not pose a serious health threat, they cause severe itching, sleep loss, and potential secondary skin infections due to scratching. Bedbugs are difficult to detect but leave small, itchy bite marks that can cause discomfort and distress. Guidance on identification and treatment is being disseminated in affected areas.
