The Pittsburgh Penguins traded goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2028 third-round draft pick, the clubs announced Tuesday. Penguins President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kyle Dubas said the deal leaves Pittsburgh with 28 selections across the next three NHL drafts, including 16 picks in the first three rounds. Nedeljkovic, 29, is entering the final season of his contract at a $2.5 million cap hit. He appeared in 38 games for Pittsburgh last season, compiling a 14-15-5 record with a 3.12 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage after finishing the prior campaign with a .902 save percentage over 33 starts. The Sharks expect Nedeljkovic to form a tandem with Yaroslav Askarov for the 2025-26 season as the club seeks stability in net. The Parma, Ohio native has a 74-60-27 record, a 3.00 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage over 179 career NHL appearances dating to his 2014 debut with Carolina.
