Google DeepMind's Indian unit is working on Project Morni to develop a language model covering 125 Indic languages. The project aims to create an inclusive and equitable AI for all dialects. To overcome the challenge of sourcing data for these languages, Google collaborated with the Indian Institute of Science and ARTPARK to launch Project Vaani. This initiative has resulted in the creation of an open-source database containing 14,000 hours of speech data.
Founders of Robotics AI startup Skild AI say they are trying to plug the gap between language models, like those from OpenAI and Google, and practical understanding. https://t.co/tW9zpxsqSz
