Google LLC is currently engaged in a legal battle in the Supreme Court over allegations of anti-competitive practices in the Android mobile device market. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) had previously fined Google Rs 1,337 crore for abusing its dominant position in 2022. The Supreme Court case is expected to take five to six days. Concurrently, Google is facing another antitrust trial in the U.S. regarding its ad technology market dominance, with the Department of Justice (DOJ) wrapping up its case. The DOJ trial, which has been ongoing for nearly two weeks in Virginia, could potentially lead to the breakup of Google's $307 billion-per-year ad empire. Additionally, the European Union has issued an ultimatum to Google over its search market dominance, threatening penalties if changes are not made. The U.S. lawsuit has been in litigation for over four years.
Google has opened its defense against allegations that it holds an illegal monopoly on online advertising technology. https://t.co/wvkCDJnD16
