JSW Steel and South Korea's POSCO have signed a non-binding heads of agreement to jointly explore the development of a 6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant in Odisha, India. The proposed project will be structured as a 50:50 joint venture between the two companies. Odisha has been identified as the potential site for the plant, specifically in the mineral-rich Kendujhar district. The government of Odisha has approved the project, which was announced during the Utkarsh Odisha Make in Odisha Conclave 2025. This collaboration marks a strategic move to enhance steel production capacity in India through international partnership.
