The Supreme Court of India has dismissed pleas challenging the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) mains examination scheduled for April 25, 2025. The petitions alleged a paper leak during the BPSC preliminary examination held on December 13, 2024, but the court rejected these claims and refused to stay the upcoming exam. A bench comprising Justices Dipankar Datta and Manmohan emphasized that suspicions are common in examinations and should not halt the process. Separately, the Supreme Court has upheld the bail granted to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia in a drug-related case. Majithia was granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2022, and the Supreme Court bench of Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Aravind Kumar dismissed the Punjab government's plea to cancel this bail. The court also directed both Majithia and the Punjab Police to refrain from making public statements regarding the case, while allowing the police the liberty to seek bail cancellation in the future if necessary.
