Tata Steel reported a marginal decline in its India crude steel production for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, producing 5.26 million tonnes compared to 5.27 million tonnes year-on-year. The company also experienced a 3.8% decrease in India delivery volumes, which fell to 4.75 million tonnes from 4.94 million tonnes in the same period last year. Despite these declines, Tata Steel saw a 39% year-on-year increase in gross merchandise value from its e-commerce platforms, reaching ₹1,350 crore. The company's European operations remained stable, and growth was noted in automotive, retail, and online sales segments. In comparison, JSW Steel reported a 14% increase in consolidated crude steel production to 7.26 million tonnes and a 15% rise in India crude steel production to 7.02 million tonnes, with capacity utilization at 87% for its Indian operations.
