India's iron ore production showed a modest increase of 0.6% year-on-year for the period of April to May 2025, rising from 52.7 million metric tonnes (MMT) to 53.0 MMT. For the fiscal year 2024-25, total iron ore production reached 289 MMT. NMDC Ltd reported a 5.9% year-on-year increase in iron ore production for June 2025, with output at 3.57 million tonnes compared to 3.37 million tonnes in June 2024, although sales declined by 4.0% to 3.58 million tonnes. Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd’s first quarter fiscal year 2026 (1QFY26) direct reduced iron (DRI) production rose 3.0% year-on-year to 79,033 metric tonnes, while its iron ore production remained flat at 4 million tonnes. MOIL Limited recorded a 2% year-on-year increase in manganese ore production for June 2025 at 168,000 tonnes, with a 6.8% rise in the first quarter to 502,000 tonnes. Tata Motors’ subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) reported a decline in wholesale volumes by 10.7% year-on-year to 87,286 units and retail sales down 15.1% to 94,420 units in 1QFY26, attributed to the planned phase-out of legacy Jaguar models and the impact of US import tariffs. JLR’s UK sales dropped by one-third, contributing to a profit decline. JSW Steel’s consolidated crude steel production increased 14% year-on-year to 7.26 million tonnes in Q1FY26, with Indian operations up 15% at 7.02 million tonnes and capacity utilization at 87%. Tata Steel’s Q1FY26 India crude steel production was stable at 5.26 million tonnes compared to 5.27 million tonnes year-on-year, while delivery volumes declined 3.8% to 4.75 million tonnes. Tata Steel’s e-commerce gross merchandise value rose 39% to ₹1,350 crore year-on-year. Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) reported an 11.29% year-on-year increase in total throughput for Q1FY26.
