The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a directive to all telecom operators to take stringent measures against spam calls. This includes blacklisting any entity found misusing telephone connections for spam and disconnecting telecom resources of unregistered telemarketers. TRAI mandates that all Access Service Providers must immediately stop voice promotional calls from unregistered senders or telemarketers. The Communications Ministry supports these measures to curb the increasing number of spam calls. Entities found making spam calls will be blacklisted for up to two years.
