
A British national has been charged by US authorities for his involvement in a 'hack-to-trade' scheme. The individual gained unauthorized access to the email accounts of executives from five companies, using the material nonpublic information obtained to buy stocks and options prior to at least 14 earnings announcements. The scheme reportedly earned him $3.75 million through insider trading by hacking Microsoft 365 accounts.
