The autumn festival season is taking shape as organisers of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival spotlight a 16-title main slate that French outlets describe as one of the strongest in recent years, with several home-grown productions sharing top billing with high-profile international premieres. Among the most anticipated entries is Yorgos Lanthimos’s "Bugonia", starring Oscar-winner Emma Stone opposite Jesse Plemons. The production released its first official poster on 27 August and said a full trailer will arrive on 28 August, positioning the sci-fi drama as a flagship launch on the Lido before it continues to Telluride and other stops. Industry attention is also fixed on Jay Roach’s "La Guerre des Rose", an English-language remake of Warren Adler’s 1981 novel. Featuring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch as a couple whose marriage unravels, the film opened in French cinemas on 27 August, adding further momentum to a festival circuit expected to be dominated by relationship stories and dark comedies.
