Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi highlighted that recent trade agreements between the US-EU and US-Japan have reduced uncertainty surrounding US trade policy. He noted that this reduction in uncertainty could help mitigate potential downward pressure on both Japan's economy and the global economy. Meanwhile, Japan's Prime Minister Ishiba emphasized the importance of ensuring the implementation of the Japan-US trade agreement, stating it will set the standard for global trade going forward. Despite these trade developments, many participants at a Japan Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) meeting urged Prime Minister Ishiba to resign, according to Kyodo News. Ishiba responded by saying that thorough discussions were held over four hours and that he would make a proper judgment based on the opinions expressed. He also apologized for the election results and committed to listening to various public voices while expressing his intention to work toward executing a trade deal with former US President Donald Trump.
