Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said his government will keep urging the United States to honour a trade-agreement pledge to lower tariffs on cars and auto parts to 15%. Ishiba told reporters the tariff reduction is critical to maintaining the global competitiveness of Japanese automakers and forms part of a package of measures Tokyo wants implemented under the bilateral deal.
