Japan’s Ishiba Deepens Security, Economic Partnership With India

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said Tokyo and New Delhi have adopted a new joint vision that calls for deeper defence and economic cooperation, underscoring what he described as the two nations’ “shared fundamental values.” Ishiba announced plans to expand security ties, including technology transfers and a formally launched economic security partnership aimed at protecting critical supply chains that are increasingly intertwined. He added that Japan will back India’s space initiatives as part of a broader push to integrate advanced technologies across strategic sectors.
