Trump's Trade Adviser Peter Navarro Claims Japan Trade Agreement Will Boost More Trade Deals Globally. 🌍🤝
WHITE HOUSE TRADE ADVISER PETER NAVARRO SAID A TRADE DEAL WITH THE EU SHOULD ENABLE THE U.S. TO INCREASE EXPORTS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS AND AUTOMOBILES.
White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said the bilateral trade agreement the United States recently concluded with Japan is expected to act as a catalyst for additional U.S. trade pacts. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Navarro argued that the deal with Tokyo demonstrates the administration’s capacity to secure market-opening accords and should encourage other countries to come to the table. Navarro added that the agreement is designed to shore up supply-chain weaknesses revealed in recent years. He said provisions in the pact will help the two nations coordinate on critical materials and manufacturing, thereby improving resilience against future disruptions. Looking ahead, Navarro said negotiations with the European Union remain a priority. He asserted that a prospective trans-Atlantic deal could expand U.S. exports of agricultural products and automobiles, although he did not provide a timeline for talks.
