External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met a delegation of special envoys from the Republic of Korea, led by former prime minister Kim Boo-kyum, in New Delhi on Thursday morning. The two sides reviewed economic, technology, defence and maritime collaboration and agreed to step up people-to-people exchanges, according to statements released after the meeting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi received the same delegation later in the day and recalled his meeting with President Lee Jae Myung last month. Modi said India remains committed to advancing the India–Republic of Korea Special Strategic Partnership, which marks its 10th anniversary this year. The back-to-back talks signal New Delhi and Seoul’s intent to widen cooperation beyond trade into emerging technologies and joint defence production, while aligning efforts to keep Indo-Pacific supply chains open and secure.
