South Korean authorities have issued an arrest warrant for former President Yoon Suk-yeol amid an investigation into alleged election meddling and a failed attempt to impose martial law in December 2024. Prosecutors reported that Yoon resisted questioning by lying down in his prison cell wearing only underwear, preventing his forcible appearance before the special counsel. The special counsel team, led by Independent Counsel Min Joong-ki, was unable to bring Yoon in for questioning due to his refusal to cooperate. Concurrently, South Korean police arrested a key aide of Yoon as the inquiry into the martial law attempt intensifies. Following Yoon's arrest, a 19-year-old was sentenced to five years in prison for attempted arson at a Seoul courthouse.
