
On August 20, 2025, Albert Ramdin, Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), presented a comprehensive Roadmap for Haiti to the OAS Permanent Council. The roadmap serves as a political and operational framework designed to coordinate solutions with Haitian authorities and align multilateral and regional efforts to promote peace and stability in Haiti. The presentation took place in the Simón Bolívar Room and was broadcast live. Additionally, the OAS released a fact sheet outlining the Haitian-led roadmap supported by regional and international partners. Meanwhile, concerns have been raised by Celso Amorim and the OAS Secretary General regarding the recent deployment of U.S. military forces near the coasts of Venezuela and in the Caribbean and Latin America, highlighting regional tensions related to the U.S. military presence.
