Spotify announced it will increase the price of its Premium subscription in select international markets starting September 2025. The monthly fee will rise from €10.99 to €11.99, representing a 9.1% increase, affecting users across Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region. This marks the second price hike in Spotify's history and aligns pricing outside the U.S. with previous increases made in the U.S. earlier in the year. Subscribers in impacted markets will be notified by email about the changes over the coming month. Despite reporting losses, Spotify's shares rose by approximately 4% in premarket trading following the announcement. Specific country-level adjustments vary, with Brazil seeing increases to R$23.90 for individual plans and Spain's Premium subscription rising to €11.99. France is reportedly exempt from this price increase and remains one of the highest-priced markets. The company cited goals to improve margins and support innovation as reasons for the price adjustment.
