Trump needs to put Chevron deference to work
A D.C. Circuit panel revisited a challenge to regulations requiring fishermen to fund the cost of compliance monitors aboard their ships. The court is open to upholding the US fishing monitor rule even without the 'Chevron' doctrine, which was recently overturned by the Supreme Court. The case was sent back to the D.C. Circuit to deal with the fallout of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the longstanding doctrine of deference to agencies. In this post-Chevron world, the decision has led to a reevaluation of agency authority in regulatory matters.
