The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has announced the expansion of its white-collar whistleblower programs to local US Attorney’s Offices. This initiative includes new pilot programs offering financial rewards to whistleblowers who report corporate wrongdoing and non-prosecution agreements to individuals who voluntarily disclose original information about criminal misconduct involving corporations. The US Attorney’s Office in California has also introduced a voluntary self-disclosure and whistleblower program targeting corporate and financial crimes. The IRS whistleblower program has achieved a significant $263 million recovery, and the CFTC has issued four whistleblower award orders amidst a funding crisis.
