The U.S. Federal Trade Commission filed a civil lawsuit against Key Investment Group, owner of online reseller TotalTickets.com, alleging the company used deceptive tactics to evade Ticketmaster’s purchase limits for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. According to the complaint, the reseller acquired large quantities of the highly sought-after tickets and resold them at marked-up prices, violating Ticketmaster terms designed to protect consumers. The FTC said it is seeking injunctive relief, monetary penalties and disgorgement of profits. Ticketmaster parent Live Nation Entertainment was not named as a defendant. In a separate action, the agency quietly dismissed its remaining lawsuit against Grand Canyon University, closing a series of Biden-era probes that had accused the private Christian school of misleading doctoral candidates about program costs. The FTC did not provide a reason for the withdrawal.
