Taylor Swift has unveiled an alternate cover and a limited “Shiny Bug Edition” vinyl package for her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which is scheduled for release on Oct. 3. The new artwork, shot by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, shows Swift in a dark sequined bodysuit and opera gloves, deepening the album’s vaudeville-inspired visual theme. The marbled wintergreen-onyx and violet-shimmer vinyl variants went on sale via Swift’s website at 2 p.m. Eastern on Aug. 18 and will be available for 48 hours—or until they sell out—closing at 1:59 p.m. on Aug. 20. Each record is priced at $29.99 in the United States and about 800 pesos in Mexico, with matching CD and cassette formats offered at lower price points. Swift has said the 12-track set marks a return to concise, uptempo pop and features production exclusively from long-time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. The only guest spot is a title-track duet with singer-songwriter Sabrina Carpenter, and the artist has stressed that no bonus material is planned beyond the core album. The brisk rollout has revived market chatter that Swift could headline the Super Bowl halftime show or stage concerts at Las Vegas’s Sphere, although no live dates have been confirmed. For now, the rapid sell-through of the “Shiny Bug” pressing underscores the sustained demand ahead of the album’s autumn release.
