Solana and Sui blockchains have reported all-time high activity and trading volumes in their decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystems. Solana's daily DeFi trading volume reached $2.5 billion, surpassing the combined volumes of Ethereum ($1.12 billion) and Binance Smart Chain ($800 million) over 24 hours, according to DeFiLlama. Solana's stablecoin supply increased 400% year-over-year to $13 billion issued, and the network achieved a weekly high of 26.5 million active addresses. Sui's decentralized exchanges (DEXs) recorded a new all-time weekly high trading volume of $3.65 billion for the week of April 20–26, with Cetus accounting for 42.8% and Momentum becoming the second-largest Sui DEX. Sui's DEX trading volume also reached approximately 540 billion yen (about $3.76 billion) in the same period. A token unlock for SUI, involving 74 million tokens valued at 37.5 billion yen (about $320 million) and representing 2.28% of its circulating supply, is scheduled for May 1. Sui's recent expansion is supported by the launch of the Grayscale SUI Trust for institutional investors, a partnership with xMoney and xPortal to offer virtual Mastercard services for European users, and ETF applications in the United States. The blockchain has also seen increased adoption in on-chain fundraising platforms and payment solutions. In the broader sector, Ethereum reached a weekly high of 15.4 million active addresses, with layer 2 solutions achieving a dominance ratio of 6.65x. Polygon reported a net inflow of $8.6 million in 24 hours and a TVL of $864 million. Unichain saw a 9,540% jump in active addresses.
